Wednesday 9th July - walks **** – The Dip to the Deben including a picnic – sunny and hot.

The temperature continue rise with another sunny day with a fairly light onshore breeze and the mass of ladybird are still about, I started my exercises in the back garden after breakfast but had to come indoors as they started to bite! I even managed to buy another windsurf foil board from Colchester as a spare as mine has been very well used, I might pick it up tomorrow but not sure yet which means we did not want to go far today so I packed a salad picnic and we drove down and parked at The Dip for a walk along the prom to have lunch at one of our favourite spots by the River Deben! After being very hot in our back garden it was very pleasant beside the sea with a nice cooling breeze. A kestrel put on a great display so we stopped and watched before bumping into friends we stopped for a chat before continuing to our lunch spot! We had a very relaxing time with some cool clouds overhead, quiet too with very few people about! After lunch with walked back along the beach with it’s ever changing shigle banks and lagoons, just such a brilliant spot and we can’t wait for our Grandson to visit in the gholidays for some beach fun! We stopped to watch a black dog having fun in the small waves and back to the van where we bumped into windsurfing mate Ian checking the conditions and it was nearly foiling conditions and stopped to have another chat before heading for home for a welcome cuppa!
